
Spring break has (almost) sprung, and fun events are blooming all over Vancouver!
This year’s spring break runs from March 17 to 28 for most Lower Mainland schools, not including weekends. If you’re looking to keep your kids busy, there are plenty of activities and events to choose from in and around the city.
So let’s not waste any time! Here are 10 events for all ages to enjoy around Vancouver, including Spring Break at VIFF Centre, Dream Tomorrow Today, and more!
Spring Break at VIFF Centre – Generation Pixar

What: Bring the whole family to the VIFF Centre and enjoy an exciting variety of films that everyone will love. The lineup for VIFF’s spring break programming is celebrating everything Pixar, with screenings of 11 different films, talks, music, trivia and more.
Whether you’re a fan of Toy Story, Cars, Up, or Finding Nemo, guests of all ages will fall in love with the timeless Pixar classics all over again at VIFF Centre this spring break.

Let’s Hear It BC Junos Plaza Party
What: Surrey will host the Let’s Hear It BC Junos Plaza Party at City Hall Plaza on March 15. There will be over 30 artists on six stages to check out throughout the day, including throughout the Plaza, City Centre Library, and Dominion restaurant in the Civic Hotel.
Guests can also enjoy DJs, family programming, a 5X Art Party, and food trucks at the one-day music festival showcasing top local and national talent.

Spring Break at Britannia Mine Museum
What: The Britannia Mine Museum invites visitors to take part in the family-friendly “Mini Mud Monsters” activity in their Terralab STEAM learning space as well as its new program, “Whatever Happened to Mt. Sheer?”
During the interpreter-led drop-in sessions, participants will discover what microorganisms in freshwater ecosystems look like up close through magnification. Guests will also learn what life was like in the historic Mt. Sheer townsite.

Monster Jam Vancouver

Monster Jam
What: Monster Jam returns to Vancouver this spring, and the travelling motorsports experience will have some new gigantic beasts along for the ride.
The family-friendly event is returning to the Pacific Coliseum for three massive events from March 21 to 23. It will be the only Vancouver stop in 2025.
The world champion athletes and their 12,000-pound monster trucks will be tearing up the dirt during the Vancouver Monster Jam Arena Championship Series West shows. Local fans will also experience two new trucks for the very first time.

Nowruz New Year Celebration at Capilano Mall
What: Capilano Mall is hosting a thrilling Nowruz New Year celebration on March 22, and everyone is invited. Guests will enjoy cultural dance performances by the Academy of Middle Eastern Dance, traditional drumming by Dafan Band, and a Haft-Seen table display by Solievent.

Wildlife Weeks: Spring Break at Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre
What: Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre and guest presenters are helping nature enthusiasts of all ages discover the wild world around you! The in-person programs include topics such as “Exploring BC Bats,” “Treetop Tales: Forest Magic,” “Raptor Rescue with OWL Rehab,”
and more.

Spring Break at Burnaby Village Museum

What: Burnaby Village Museum is celebrating spring break, and longtime visitors and new guests will discover plenty to enjoy. Special activities throughout the two weeks include Storytime at the Indigenous Learning House, a scavenger hunt, playing heritage games, steam demos, and more.
The beloved open-air historical attraction transports people back in time and lets them experience life in a 1920s village, complete with heritage and recreated buildings and staff dressed in the period’s fashion. The carousel will also be open but only at 50 per cent capacity.

Extreme Sports: Beyond Human Limits
What: Science World invites guests to challenge themselves to jump, dive, fly, and climb in a new feature exhibit that explores some of the most exciting sports in the world. Learn the science behind the sports and hear stories from around the world highlighting the dedication and determination of top-class athletes.

Get your game on at these Metro Vancouver arcades
What: No matter the weather outside, arcades are guaranteed to deliver you a good time!
Metro Vancouver is home to a number of popular arcade bars where you can enjoy drinks and meals along with your games. There are also classic spots with plenty of retro cabinets and modern touches to ensure a fun experience for all ages.

Vancouver Aquarium presents Survival of the Slowest
What: Vancouver Aquarium’s new exhibit, Survival of the Slowest, is celebrating all things slow in the animal kingdom by giving you a sneak peek behind some of nature’s most inventive creatures. From now until Monday, Sept. 1, this limited-time exhibit lets you step into a world where being slow, small, and even weak can be a powerful survival strategy.
Throughout the exhibit, you can dive into interactive displays to uncover how these naturally slow critters, like the two-toed sloth, have adapted to survive in the wild. Relax into daily Slow & Tell animal presentations so you can chill with the coolest sluggish creatures like the four-toed hedgehog and the armoured armadillo.
