One of the country’s premiere tulip festivals will soon bloom in the Fraser Valley, and the natural beauty is definitely worth the drive from Vancouver.
Lakeland Farms’ annual Abbotsford Tulip Festival is slated to open to visitors on Saturday, April 5, kicking off a months-long celebration of everything floral.
The highly anticipated springtime event features a gargantuan garden with over 100 varieties of stunning tulips spread over 35 acres.

āOur favourite time of year is approaching and we are excited to connect with everyone again,ā said Nick Warmerdam, owner of Lakeland Flowers, in a release.” āWe have some new photo opportunities along with bringing back fan favourites.ā
The Abbotsford Tulip Festival features kilometres of walking trails and specialty varietals like fringe tulips and double tulips that have been imported from Holland, and a legacy tulip named after Peter Warmerdam, Nickās father.
Bring a camera with you as the fields will have photo ops, including bicycles, baby grand pianos, and giant klompen (Dutch wooden shoes). On select nights during the fest, guests can enjoy live music with local pianists as well as live painting on April 26 and May 3.
