Winter is still about two months away, and we haven’t even hit Halloween yet, but snow is falling on some parts of Vancouver Island.
Residents in Comox Valley cities like Courtenay, and likely other parts of eastern Vancouver Island, saw snowfall on Tuesday afternoon.
The Weather Network reported conditions as a mix of rain and snow, but based on videos posted on X, it looks like a pretty steady amount of the white stuff in some spots, though temperatures aren’t cold enough for any real sticking action.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) issued a special weather statement early Tuesday morning suggesting that some areas of the BC south coast could see 10 cm of snow at higher elevations.
ECCC meteorologist Armel Castellan posted his snow photos from Cumberland on Vancouver Island, where it is sticking.

As we reported earlier today, Vancouver will get some really cold weather soon, so get out the toques, but so far, no snow is in the forecast.
