'90s rock legends coming to Vancouver for one-of-a-kind concert
The list of huge Vancouver concerts happening in 2026 continues to grow, and rock icons The Smashing Pumpkins have just added their name to the calendar.
The two-time Grammy winners are bringing The Rats in a Cage Tour to Rogers Arena on Thursday, Nov. 5.
Canadian fans of The Smashing Pumpkins will only have three chances to see the group north of the border, with the band also stopping in Hamilton and Calgary this fall. Tickets for all shows go on sale on Thursday, May 21, at 10 a.m.

The Rats in a Cage Tour is described as a “one of a kind show” and one of The Smashing Pumpkins’ most ambitious live concerts to date.
“Kicking off in September and running through November 2026, The Rats In A Cage Tour will feature the band playing two distinct sets,” said Live Nation in a release.
“One celebrating the seminal 1995 RIAA Diamond certified Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness’ recent 30th anniversary, and one a career-spanning journey through nearly four decades’ worth of beloved hits, deep cuts, and fan-favourites alike.”
The Smashing Pumpkins have sold over 30 million albums around the world, and also have seven MTV VMAs and an American Music Award to their name.
Currently made up of original members Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, and James Iha, The Smashing Pumpkins are known for smash hits like “1979”, “Bullet with Butterfly Wings,” and “Adore.” They also have two albums — Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness — listed on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list.

“Staging a Mellon Collie-themed show is something we’ve discussed for over a decade, and finally the stars have aligned, and exactly on the terms I’d set, which was to build a special night around its most enduring aspirations and ideas,” said frontman Billy Corgan.
“With set one of the Rats In A Cage tour exclusively featuring Mellon Collie songs in a highly theatrical setting, and set two drawing from the rest of our canon so that there’s a decent amount of variance as to what songs we’ll play from night to night. From our first in ‘Gish’ to our last in ‘Aghori Mhori Mei’.”
It has been a busy season for Vancouver concert announcements, with fellow rockers Beck, The Strokes and Weezer coming to town later this year.
Fans of pop and country music also have lots to look forward to, including shows by Shaboozey and Olivia Rodrigo.
