Second Floor Eatery + Bar: New sports lounge takes over ex-All Star Wings

Finally, there’s a new tenant going into the former All Star Wings & Ribs flagship at the corner of Bute and Robson in downtown Vancouver. Following in its predecessor’s footsteps, the Second Floor Eatery + Bar will be a full-service restaurant and lounge with an emphasis on sports.

Currently (“aggressively”) hiring staff, Second Floor Eatery + Bar (which, is, indeed, on the second floor) is teasing passers by with their signage touting “FRESH. LOCAL. MODERN. SHAKEN” and the all-black exterior paint job.

The restaurant also asserts in their current hiring listing on Craigslist that they are “destined to be the new hot spot on the street.”

Second Floor elaborates: Our food options highlight Local, Sustainably-Sourced, Organic, Ocean-Wise and Farm-Fresh ingredients. The culinary vision is to offer premium dishes in an approachable fashion.”Sports fans, take note: “Our state of the art A/V system allows us to host sporting events like no other, and our food/beverage menu elevate the experience to more than just sports,” the resto/bar explained in an earlier job listing.

Looks like they’ll have lunch, happy hour, dinner and drinks. No web or social presence so far for them.

It’s been a tough go for the tenants on the second level of 808 Bute. All Star closed abruptly in January 2017, leaving a flurry of questions in its wake. Previously, the space was occupied by Moxie’s.
