'Vancouver's original seafood grill restaurant' to close after 49 years

The Vancouver restaurant industry has been struggling recently, and it’s not just the newer eateries that are suffering. Multiple longstanding spots have recently announced closures, and we just received word that another one will be joining that list.
Salmon House on the Hill, dubbed “Vancouver’s original seafood grill restaurant,” broke the news that it will close its doors.
“It is our honour and pleasure to serve you and your loved ones,” said the restaurant.

First opened in 1976, Salmon House is best known for its selection of seafood and meats. It’s also well known for its stunning view of Vancouver and Stanley Park.

Naturally, people were disappointed at the news of the closure.
“Thank you for the years of great meals and service! You will be missed!!!” shared one person in the closure announcement.
“Thatās so sad :(. We were planning on coming for our anniversary dinner :(,” said another.
“Just before the big 50 š¢,” shared a third.
Salmon House will close its doors on Saturday, July 12.
