Who doesn’t enjoy a little fun for a great cause?

On Saturday, May 11, 2019, kids ages 6-13 can venture through a fun obstacle course for the second annual Ruben’s Ruckus event to raise funds for children in the Dominican Republic.

Ruben’s Ruckus is a 3-km obstacle challenge specifically designed just for kids. By participating, kids are helping to give shoes and education to children in underdeveloped countries across the world.

Ruben’s Shoes began in 2013 and was inspired by a young boy named Ruben living in the Dominican Republic. In countries like the Dominican, without shoes kids can’t go to school. Ruben’s Shoes collects gently used shoes and ships them around the world to those in need.

Ruben’s Shoes also has an elementary school in the Dominican Republic with over 200 students, and the second annual obstacle race will help raise money to build a secondary school.
