Surrey RCMP investigating after second pedestrian death in 3 days

Another pedestrian is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Surrey.

The latest pedestrian-involved collision happened on Monday around 2:15 pm at 192 Street and 80 Avenue, according to a Surrey RCMP news release. First responders attempted to revive the woman, but she died of her injuries.

Police are asking drivers to avoid the area during the afternoon rush. They’ve closed the following intersections to gather evidence:

  • 192nd Street at 82A Avenue
  • 192nd Street at 78th Avenue
  • 196th Street at 80th Avenue
  • 188th Street at 80th Avenue

This woman is the third pedestrian to be hit by a vehicle in three days in Surrey.

On Saturday around 5:20 pm, another person was struck and killed while crossing Scott Road near Scottsdale Centre. A second woman was hit at 7:30 am Monday in Cloverdale. She’s recovering from serious injuries.
