Female pedestrian in serious condition after vehicle collision in Surrey

A pedestrian has been rushed to the hospital in serious condition after being struck in an early morning collision in Cloverdale.

According to the Surrey RCMP, the incident reportedly happened on Monday at 7:30 am.

Police responded to the collision in the area of 188th Street at 56B Avenue.

Upon arrival, responders located a female pedestrian who was struck by a moving vehicle. Police say that she was rushed to the hospital in serious condition and that the driver of the vehicle has remained on scene and is cooperating with police.

The area around 188 Street and 56B Avenue will be closed for an “extended period of time” while police investigate the circumstances around the collision.

So far, there have been no suggestions as to what caused the crash.

Motorists are asked to take an alternate route until further notice.
