'It seems like this isn’t real': Vancouver bakery to close next week after six years

We knew it was coming, but we still can’t believe it’s happening. Remi Patisserie has shared that its official final day of service is Oct. 12, 2025.

“It’s getting to me… slowly. It seems like this isn’t real. Is it really ending? My mind is playing tricks, jumping in and out of this reality. But it’s our last week and now it feels a bit more real,” wrote Remi Ho, owner of Remi Patisserie, on Instagram.

Remi Patisserie opened its doors on Oct. 8, 2020, but had been operating as a pop-up beforehand. The spot is best known for its hand-crafted desserts inspired by Ho’s Chinese heritage and birthplace, French Guiana. It’s particularly well known for its mango mochi.

“2019 to 2025, 6 years and about 8 months. Start to end. It is the biggest achievement of my life to date. I am proud of myself that I took this leap to start this business. I had to gather a lot of courage to jump into entrepreneurship. I used every determination in me to persevere. And I worked hard, really hard. I thank myself I did that,” added Remi.

“I’m so thankful to my staffs who joined me in this journey. Thanks to you, we were able to produce a ton of good food, serve many customers, and overcome obstacles to live to see another day. You worked so hard. Your efforts don’t go unnoticed. Thank you all.”

Thank you, the customers, the supporters, the fans. Your support, your cheers, your kindness, and sometimes the lunch, are what kept me going. You made this journey smoother, by me knowing that you were around, my business felt safe. For real. It’s true. I know my mango mochi will sell out no matter what. Lol”

However, this isn’t the end for Ho as he previously stated that something new could be in the works.

“I have learned so much throughout these years and I hope I can be better and do better on the next venture. I have more to say but I’ll leave it for the next post,” he wrote.
