Rainfall warning remains in effect over parts of Metro Vancouver

A rainfall warning issued by Environment Canada remains in effect over parts of Metro Vancouver.

The special weather bulletin is in effect for the following areas:

  • Metro Vancouver – North Shore including West Vancouver and North Vancouver
  • Metro Vancouver – northeast including Coquitlam and Maple Ridge

Heavy rain will continue on Tuesday for Howe Sound, the North Shore, and northeastern Metro Vancouver, with an additional 30 to 40 mm expected through the evening.

“A series of frontal systems continue to bring periods of rain to the south coast of BC today,” says Environment Canada in a statement. “Heavy rain will taper off this morning. However, another round of heavy rain will move in this afternoon and continue early this evening.”

The rain is expected to ease up overnight.
