Premium viewing experiences now available for New Year's Eve Vancouver fireworks

If you don’t want to deal with the crowds at Concord’s New Year’s Eve Vancouver’s fireworks celebration, organizers are offering two varying premium outdoor fireworks viewing experiences for the event this December 31.

This year’s event ringing in 2017 features an expanded concert line-up and festival footprint compared to last year’s inaugural event attracting 80,000 people to the Coal Harbour area in downtown Vancouver.

Artists and bands playing at this year’s free street festival concerts include the Sheepdogs, Wintersleep, Crystal Shawanda, Meghan Patrick, Dan Davidson, and Spencer Burton.

There will be two fireworks displays launched from a barge anchored in the middle of Coal Harbour – a shorter Family Fireworks show at 9 pm intended for families with young children and a spectacular Midnight Countdown Fireworks show.

Revellers within both the RE/MAX Family Zone, which is accompanied with an indoor activity area, and Outdoor Fireworks Viewing Zone will be able to enjoy both fireworks displays from a comfortable setting.

RE/MAX Family Zone

The RE/MAX Family Zone is a new and improved outdoor premium viewing area along the west promenade of the Canada Place pier.

This year’s viewing zone at the pier is designed for families and includes an indoor family-focused entertainment area within the ballrooms of the Vancouver Convention Centre’s East Building at Canada Place. Expect everything from face painters to arcade games, plus carnival style food and beverages available for purchase.

Revellers within this Family Zone will also have in-and-out privileges to enjoy the rest of the festivities on the street, such as the two outdoor concert stages and over 20 food trucks on Canada Place Way.

Please note that while this Family Zone consists of an indoor activity area, the fireworks viewing area is an uncovered outdoor space.

Outdoor Fireworks Viewing Zone

Located on the seawall walkway promenade on the north side of the West Building of the Vancouver Convention Centre, between the giant raindrop sculpture and the floatplane terminal, the Outdoor Fireworks Viewing Zone provides a front row view of both fireworks shows at 9 pm and midnight.

Those who plan to ring in the New Year from the Outdoor Fireworks Viewing Zone will have in-and-out privileges to enjoy the rest of the festivities.

Please note that this is an uncovered outdoor viewing area, and tickets are based on zones with limited capacities to ensure all revellers have access to a great view of the fireworks and a comfortable setting.
