13 artists and bands performing at Concord's New Year's Eve Vancouver concerts
A concert series celebrating some of Canada’s finest up and coming artists and bands will be one of the returning highlights at this year’s Concord’s New Year’s Eve Vancouver fireworks festival.
The Vancouver New Year’s Eve Celebration Society has partnered with Toronto-based Dine Alone Records to provide this year’s expanded and improved event with a high-calibre lineup of artists and bands.
There will be two outdoor stages on Canada Place Way – the 102.7 The PEAK Main Stage and 93.7 JRfm Stage – for the event’s free concerts as well as a third stage inside the West Ballroom of the Vancouver Convention Centre for the ticketed TRUE NORTH indoor party.
“We’ve always wanted to do something out west, and we thought this would be a good opportunity to make a New Year’s Eve event that all of us wanted to go to and have all of our artists from the area have a chance to play together with artists from other parts of the country that we work with,” said Lisa Logutenkow, Vice-President of Dine Alone Records, told Daily Hive.

At the time of writing, 13 artists have been confirmed for the New Year’s Eve line-up, which includes headliners The New Pornographers for the 102.7 The PEAK Main Stage and Meghan Patrick for the 93.7 JRfm Stage.
The Sheepdogs will be the main act for the stage at the TRUE NORTH indoor party, where there will be one ballroom for live music from bands and another ballroom for a dance party with music played by DJs. TRUE NORTH is the only indoor NYE party in Vancouver with fireworks and will be the largest and most extravagant NYE part in the city.
“It’ll be an amazing party, we’re all very excited to come out for it and it’s a great opportunity for us to celebrate our bands from BC. All of the bands cross-over a bit in some way, so it’s great.”

High-aerial fireworks for the celebration will be launched from a barge anchored in the middle of Coal Harbour. There will be a 9 pm Early Eve Fireworks show for families with young children followed by a Midnight Countdown Fireworks spectacular to ring in 2017.
Revellers can also enjoy the fireworks from two premium viewing areas – the RE/MAX Family Zone at Canada Place and the Outdoor Fireworks Viewing Zone at the Vancouver Convention Centre’s North Seawall.
