These are the most popular dog breeds in Vancouver

Vancouver is a city full of dog owners, and now a new ranking from pet-sit and dog-walk network Rover has released its list of the most popular dog breeds in the city for 2020.

According to Rover, this year’s roundup – the second annual of its kind – was put together by analyzing and ranking the 20 most popular dog breeds.

Coming in at number one this year were “mixed” breeds.

“Often hardy and always unique, mixed breed dogs continually top lists of the most popular dog types in Canada,” Rover said in its report.

Labrador retrievers took the second spot.

“Labs are one of the Canada’s most popular dog breeds,” said Rover. “These high-spirited sporting dogs are perfect for people who love spending time outdoors swimming, jogging, or hunting.”

Rounding out the top three were chihuahuas.

“They’re ideal dogs for city dwellers, but require training to temper their ‘big dog’ attitudes,” the report said.
