20-year-old struck by car believed to be walking on Burrard Bridge: police
The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) is asking for witnesses to step forward after a serious weekend collision involving a pedestrian.
According to an emailed statement, the accident took place on Sunday at the Burrard Bridge, just after 3 am.
Police say that a 20-year-old man was “believed to be walking in the southbound lanes on the north end of the bridge.” An oncoming vehicle reportedly swerved out of the way to avoid hitting him. Unfortunately, the vehicle then hit another car, which then hit the pedestrian.

The 20-year-old was rushed to the hospital in serious condition; the driver remained on scene and cooperated with police.
The VPD says that speed and alcohol are not considered to be factors in the collision.
