It’s the time we’ve all been waiting for, the event where you’ll find wacky food served on sticks and combinations that you didn’t think were possible, is finally here: the PNE Fair.
The PNE Fair, B.C.’s longest-running and largest ticketed event, is happening from Aug. 16 to Sept. 1, with new programming, returning attractions, epic headlining concerts, and more for the whole family to enjoy.
In addition to standout events (like the iconic SuperDogs show), the list of food at this year’s PNE Fair is as outrageous as ever.
From a deep-fried spiral pickle to Cowboy Candy soft serve (a.k.a. candied jalapeños), here is a short list of some of the wacky and wonderful foods you can eat at this year’s PNE Fair. For a full list of everything you can enjoy, be sure to check out the PNE Fair website.
Cowboy Candy Soft Serve — Summerland Soft Serve

Summerland Soft Serve
Brought to us from the team behind Summerland Soft Serve, this year you’ll be able to enjoy a Cowboy Candy Soft Serve. For those unfamiliar with the term, Cowboy Candy is actually candied jalapeños, which are served on top of this mango ice cream with a Tajin rim. This might be the ultimate sweet and spicy combo.
Deep Fried Spiral Pickle — Diggity Dogs

Diggity Dogs
If you’ve been to any event in Metro Vancouver, you’d come across one of those spiral potatoes on a stick. Diggity Dogs is taking that to the next level with a spiral deep-fried pickle, served with a corn tortilla crust and chipotle ranch dressing. We know how much Vancouver loves its pickles, so we’re sure this will be a hot commodity this year.
Ube Corndog — The Corn Dog King

The Corn Dog King
You’ve heard of ube in bubble tea and waffles, but have you ever had it in a corndog? Half hot dog and half mozzarella cheese is covered in an ube batter and then rolled in ube panko and topped with kewpie mayo to make this unique fair food on a stick. The Corn Dog King says that this creation has people coming back day in and day out, so we just might have to try it to see what the hype is about.
