After postponing two concerts in Vancouver, fans are reeling about losing out on the experience of seeing Pink in concert this past weekend, as well as the financial cost the last-minute announcement is having on many.
The “Trustfall” singer posted to social media that she wouldn’t take the stage Friday and Saturday at Rogers Arena under her doctor’s orders and that she was very sorry. She added that concert promoter Live Nation is working on rescheduling dates for both shows.
Christy Agarn flew a long way to see the singer and had been looking forward to it for months.
“I’ve had [Pink] on my bucket list for so long, and I have never been able to afford to see her before,” says Agarn.
Pink reached out to fans through an Instagram statement on October 19, stating she was suffering from a respiratory issue, a day before Agarn was supposed to watch the show.
Agarn travelled from Regina to Vancouver for the concert. She found a deal on flights for around $300 and paid an additional $500 for her hotel.
“So overall, with travel, hotel, and food, it’s cost me $1,000+. Not to mention the $500 I paid for her concert ticket,” says Agarn, who has been a fan for two decades.
“I contacted Ticketmaster, and they said the artist is NOT offering refunds. I don’t think this is okay! Especially for people who travel! I can’t afford to just come back next month!? I’m quite upset I can’t get a refund,” says Agarn.

She hopes that the concert is rebooked for next year to give herself and other fans a chance to save up the money to attend the show.
Daily Hive has reached out to Ticketmaster and Live Nation for comment.
The disappointment of Agran, along with other fans, serves as a reminder of the complexities and challenges that arise when significant events are cancelled or postponed last minute.
A similar situation happened when one of Drake’s Vancouver shows had to be rescheduled after technical issues this past August.
Most recently, fans in Vancouver were disappointed when a show they had been attending was cancelled just five songs in due to safety concerns. Lil Yachty was performing at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre on Saturday night when the show was shut down after he asked the hundreds in attendance to storm the stage.
Live Nation told Daily Hive that fans with tickets to that show will be getting a refund.
