Passenger slashes ride-share driver with knife in Vancouver: Police

A ride-share driver is recovering from an altercation with a passenger this weekend after they were slashed with a knife.

According to a press release from Vancouver police, the incident occurred around 8:40 pm after the driver picked up two passengers in the East Vancouver area on Quebec Street and transported them to Nanaimo Street and South Grandview Highway.

“There was an altercation at the end of the trip, resulting in the driver being injured,” police stated.

After a witness called 911, VPD officers were able to find a suspect on Nanaimo Street and he was taken into custody.

“A 19-year-old man has been charged for assault with a weapon,” police confirmed.
