Parking enforcement to increase in Vancouver as traffic volumes rise

Jun 4 2020, 10:06 pm

The City of Vancouver is reminding drivers that parking enforcement is set to increase as traffic volumes and demand for curbside spots continue to rise.

In a statement, the City said: “Residents will start to see more bylaw officers on the streets as more staff return to work — patrolling on foot, by bicycle, and in vehicles to keep Vancouver safe and our streets operational.”

Parking enforcement, which includes ticketing and towing in priority areas, applies to the following:

  • Priority transit lanes during morning and afternoon rush hours
  • Metered-parking areas
  • Time-limited areas
  • Residential-permit parking zones with little parking availability

The City continues to offer free parking to healthcare workers.

Parking enforcement was brought back in Vancouver on April 30.
