Kitsilano's Olive + Ruby Cafe has closed after three years of business

Kitsilano has lost one of its local cafes. Olive + Ruby has closed its doors after three years of operation.

The 2839 West Broadway eatery was known for its vegetarian and plant-based eats, smoothies, and baked goods.

The cafe posted a message of thanks to patrons who supported the business over the years.

This was taken the eve of our first day open. To think that anyone came back after that first day (or first 6 months if we’re being honest) is a miracle! Thank you! You may have guessed it but we have decided to close our doors for good after three years. We have immense gratitude for every person that walked through our door, for every employee who spent their time and effort in our space and for all of the local vendors . In the midst of all the more import change we are experiencing this seems silly to even post but I papered up the windows yesterday and felt I needed this closure as well. Much love to you all.

Olive + Ruby is the latest loss for the city’s food and beverage scene.

Vancouver recently said goodbye to the much-loved Au Petit Cafe, brunch spot Ham & Eggmans, and Robson Street’s longtime staple, Cafe Crepe to name a few.
