Man found murdered in Vancouver movie theatre parking lot

A passerby discovered a murdered man’s body in a car parked at a South Vancouver movie theatre Saturday evening.

According to a Vancouver Police Department news release, the vehicle was in the Marine Gateway Cineplex parking lot, near SW Marine Drive and Cambie Street. The passerby found the body around 8:30 pm.

No arrests have been made, and police haven’t identified the victim. Investigators don’t believe there’s a risk to the public.

Movie-goers at Marine Gateway shared on social media that police officers were stopping drivers exiting the parking lot and asking for dashcam footage.

This is Vancouver’s second homicide in 2020.
