The Vancouver Canucks are a first-place team again, following a 4-1 win over the San Jose Sharks at Rogers Arena Saturday night.

Securing two points in the victory, the Canucks leaped from fifth to first in the Pacific Division, passing the Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, Vegas Golden Knights, and Arizona Coyotes — who are all tied with 57 points.

The Canucks got goals from Loui Eriksson, Tanner Pearson, Quinn Hughes, and J.T. Miller in the win, outshooting San Jose 39-18 in the process. Pearson also added an assist, while Jake Virtanen and Adam Gaudette also had two-point nights.

Vancouver has won eight in a row at Rogers Arena, and now have the fifth-best home ice record (15-5-3) in the NHL.

The Canucks don’t play again until January 27, as the team hits their bye week. Three players — Elias Pettersson, Jacob Markstrom, and Hughes — will represent the Canucks at All-Star Weekend, which takes place Friday and Saturday in St. Louis.
