One of Vancouver’s favourite sweet spots is officially opening a new location, Dished Vancouver has learned.

Mister Ice Cream Bar is gearing up to open its second Vancouver outpost in Kitsilano this summer.

The popular liquid nitrogen churned ice cream parlour will be setting up shop at 1835 West 1st Avenue, the former location of a smoothie bar called Shift Shakes.

The brand opened its first location in Yaletown in 2016 and quickly gained popularity among dessert lovers thanks to its stellar (and picture-perfect) ice cream sandwiches, ice cream pints, and ice cream dipped bars to-go.

Mister co-owners Tommy Choi and Michael Lai have started transforming their new 400-square-foot space in Kitsilano and expect to open the doors early summer 2021.

“We just signed our lease and are excited to start transforming the 400 square foot location,” says Choi.

“It’s something we’ve wanted to do for some time now, and we can’t think of a better neighbourhood to be a part of – alongside some of our favourite restaurants, such as AnnaLena and Oddfish.”

Once it opens, customers can expect all their favourite made-from-scratch Mister flavours, like s’mores and brûlée, alongside some exclusive Kitsilano options too.

We’ll keep you posted on an exact opening date, stay tuned!
