A busy Buy-Low Foods location in Metro Vancouver will soon be replaced by another grocery store.
The Buy-Low located at 7380 Edmonds St. in Burnaby will be converted to a PriceSmart Foods.
Both chains are owned and operated by Pattison Food Group.
“PriceSmart Foods Kings Crossing will open on Thursday, May 22, and customers can expect the same great service from the same great team members who work in the store today,” stated a media relations representative from Pattison Food Group in an email to Daily Hive.

Signage outside the store states that the location is currently being “updated” to serve customers better.
The current store is located in what’s referred to as Edmond’s Kings Crossing development.

The Pattison Food Group did not provide further explanation as to why the store would be converting to PriceSmart.
However, this isn’t the first time this change has been made with a Buy-Low location.
Last year, the Buy-Low at Kingsgate Mall was replaced with Save-On-Foods, another grocery store banner owned by Pattison Food Group.
Buy-Low Foods opened its first location on Arbutus Street in Vancouver in 1966. Then, in 1995, it was purchased from its founders by the Jim Pattison Group. It has grown to 17 retail locations throughout British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan.
The Buy-Low Foods at Kings Crossing remains open to shoppers, although work is being done within the store.
