Surrey RCMP are investigating after an apparent road rage incident in the city on Tuesday afternoon ended with two men in hospital.

According to Surrey RCMP Cpl. Joanie Sidhu, the incident took place shortly after 2:30 pm, when police were called to a report of two men fighting near the intersection of 100 Avenue and 140 Street.

“Vehicles associated to both males were parked nearby,” Sidhu told Daily Hive. “The altercation between the two men escalated and they both allegedly stabbed one another.”

Officers attended the scene and “separated the two men who were both taken to area hospitals” suffering from injuries that were described as non-life threatening.

The investigation is continuing, and Sidhu said no charges have been laid at this time, “as investigators work to determine the cause and full facts surrounding the circumstance.”

She noted, however, that “early indications are that this incident stemmed from a driving dispute.”
