Macu Tea just announced a new location following the closure of three Metro Vancouver spots

It’s safe to say that it’s been a confusing couple of months for fans of Macu Tea in Metro Vancouver.
In February, the brand closed both of its Burnaby and Robson locations. Following that, it also closed its Richmond Captstan location in March.
“After careful consideration, we will be closing our Richmond Capstan location,” wrote the brand on Instagram. “With deep appreciation for our community’s support, we look forward to what the future may bring.”
Many were concerned about the closures and were also surprised, given how popular the fruit tea shop is.
āWhat?? Longest lines here. How are they closing every location??ā wrote one Instagram user on the most recent closure announcement.
At the time, the brand shared its continued dedication to the Vancouver market, adding that “in order to continue delivering the authentic flavours and service experience that defines Macu Tea, we are currently preparing plans for a new location in a more suitable area.”
Well, it looks like that day is drawing near as the brand has shared it will be opening a new location in Burnaby this summer, with signs of the storefront going up yesterday.
“The North Road location represents a vital chapter in our journey within British Columbia,” said the Macu Tea project team. “With signage now visible to the public, we are excited to invite the community to join us this summer for an unparalleled tea experience that celebrates freshness and craftsmanship.”
Aside from a projected summer opening, an exact date for the store’s launch has yet to be announced. However, it did share that grand opening festivities will include exclusive promotions and the debut of seasonal menu items.
Plus, folks itching for some fruit tea can also visit its Kerrisdale location.

Macu Tea was first founded in 2008 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and has since expanded to multiple locations across Canada and the United States.
Its claim to fame is its use of fresh fruit teas made with seasonal fruits and high-quality tea leaves. The brand is best known for its mango offerings, including a drink called the King of Mango Smoothie, which is a mango slush with fruit chunks, green tea jelly, and coconut milk.
