Lime expands Vancouver e-scooter share service area further into Central Broadway, across Granville Bridge

Lime has performed another major expansion of its e-scooter share service area within Vancouver — this time, into the Fairview neighbourhoods on the south side of False Creek.
Upon inquiry, the company told Daily Hive Urbanized the expansion into this area of the Central Broadway corridor was topped off earlier this week by activating the Granville Street Bridge, specifically enabling e-scooter share riders to use the bike lane on the newly-built Granville Connector on the bridge deck — allowing riders to travel more seamlessly between the downtown Vancouver peninsula and South Granville.
This latest expansion also reaches as far west as Pine Street — just east of Burrard Street.

“We’re thrilled to continue our expansion across Vancouver, most recently adding the Granville Bridge which allows us to serve the south side of False Creek and Fairview area,” Clare Laverty, Community Engagement Leader at Lime Canada, told Daily Hive Urbanized upon inquiry.
“Close collaboration with the City of Vancouver is our top priority, emphasizing a mindful rollout that incorporates extensive community feedback as we strategically build our new stations.”

Lime first launched its Vancouver e-scooter share service in September 2024 within the northeast corner of the city — in the Hastings-Sunrise and Grandview-Woodland neighbourhoods. It expanded into Strathcona and Mount Pleasant in Winter 2024, and across the downtown Vancouver peninsula in June 2025.
At its one-year anniversary in September 2025, Lime reported it had recorded 400,000 rides on its e-scooter share service in Vancouver to date, with much of this pace of growth propelled by the downtown Vancouver expansion.
Lime plans to gradually expand its e-scooter service into every neighbourhood across the city. Unlike Lime’s other markets around the world, the company’s service in Vancouver uses designated locking docking parking stations, requiring riders to return e-scooters to an station rather than leaving them free-floating in public spaces.

Timed with the fall season’s wet weather and darker riding conditions, Lime more recently launched a safety campaign, encouraging riders to follow the requirement to wear the provided helmet when using their e-scooter share devices. This is required by law.
To incentivize riders to follow this rule, riders who snap a selfie wearing a helmet with a Lime micro-mobility device and submit the photo on the smartphone app will receive a 50 per cent discount on their next ride. This incentive also applies to Lime’s other service areas in Metro Vancouver, including Port Moody, Coquitlam, New Westminster, and Richmond.
