Mobi bike share to get a new green look for its e-bike fleet

A significant portion of Vancouver’s bike share fleet is getting a new look under a fresh sponsorship deal.
Vancouver Bike Share, operator of the Mobi by Rogers system, is rolling out a green livery for its e-bike fleet as part of a partnership with Simplii Financial — the digital banking division of CIBC — which has become the program’s “Exclusive E-bike Partner.”
While the overall system will continue to operate under the Mobi by Rogers name, the introduction of a distinct colour scheme for e-bikes will make them stand out from the red fleet of regular bicycles, improving visibility and ease of access for riders.
Currently, the system features 600 e-bikes, plus 2,000 regular bikes. There are about 260 bike share stations, including 36 electric charging stations that are brightly coloured. The new colours will be gradually rolled out through the fall.
“We’re proud to welcome Simplii Financial as our exclusive e-bike partner,” said Mia Kohout, CEO of Vancouver Bike Share, in a statement.
“Their participation means riders will see bold new branding on e-bikes and stations, making them easier to find across the city. Riders will also enjoy special discounts on select rides, giving even more people the opportunity to experience the convenience and freedom of e-bikes.”
After initially launching in 2016, Mobi gradually expanded its service area across much of Vancouver, and first introduced e-bikes in 2022 — the same year it also expanded to the University of British Columbia campus, which is served by e-bikes.
Mobi by Rogers has seen strong ridership growth in recent years, reaching 977,000 trips in 2022, 1.2 million trips in 2023 (the first year it crossed one million trips), and over one million again in 2024.
“At Simplii Financial, we believe in making life easier for Canadians, both through our everyday banking solutions and our partnerships,” said Atanaska Novakova, executive vice president and head of Simplii Financial.
“This partnership with Vancouver Bike Share gives Vancouverites a convenient, sustainable, and cost-effective way to get around the city. Together, we’re proud to support a healthier future and a stronger community.”
This marks Mobi’s second rebrand since late 2023, when the system swapped its blue Shaw colours for a red Rogers scheme after Rogers’ takeover of the Western Canada company.
