BrickCan 2020 LEGO exhibition returns to Richmond May 2020

Canada’s largest public LEGO celebration is coming back to Metro Vancouver this spring.

Happening at the River Rock Show Theatre in Richmond on May 2 and 3, the BrickCan exhibition is celebrating its fifth year with hundreds of new creations designed by builders from all over the world.

“There are more builders than ever before – over 250,” said Mary Plumridge, one of the event’s organizers. “We have a show packed with hundreds of never-before-seen models for this one weekend only.”

Organizers said that with a limited number of tickets available, many of the time slots sell out well before the event takes place.

“Get your tickets early, and bring the whole family,” said Ley Ward, who coordinates the hundreds of models that are displayed. “Almost everyone who attends wants to come back, so tickets go fast.”

Many of the builders, Ward added, will be available to chat with the public while they look at all the builds, “and you’re sure to learn some building tricks.”

Tickets for the two-hour exhibit viewing sessions are available now through Ticketmaster.

While at the event, everyone with tickets is invited to visit the Creation Station between 9 am and 4 pm. The Creation Station features lots of interactive building opportunities for all ages. Attendees can also shop during their scheduled viewing times at a variety of vendors selling LEGO-themed books, clothing, jewellery, and artwork, as well as rare LEGO sets and pieces.

The event is free for children three years old and younger, and all children under 12 who present valid tickets will receive an exclusive, custom-designed BrickCan building set to take home.

While children are welcome at the event, strollers and wagons are not permitted in the exhibit hall, due to space constraints. The exhibition hall, however, is fully wheelchair accessible.
