Filipino food staple in Metro Vancouver closing its doors after 15 years

The restaurant industry has been suffering recently, and another spot has announced the closure of one of its long-standing locations.
Kulinarya Filipino Eatery took to Instagram to share the closure of its Coquitlam location.
“For the past 15 years, the space has been more than just a restaurant — it’s been a home where stories were shared, friendships were made, dishes were served, and our culture came alive,” said the eatery.

The spot was best known for its Kamayan-style dining, a Filipino meal eaten with your hands instead of plates and cutlery.
“We are deeply grateful to the Coquitlam community for embracing us, supporting us, and being a part of our journey. Your love and encouragement have been the heart of Kulinaryas,” continued the restaurant.

However, it’s not all doom and gloom for Kulinarya. While the restaurant did not share a reason for the closure, it did add that it is open to exploring opportunities for other bigger and better locations in the future.
Plus, its Vancouver location at 1134 Commercial Drive will continue to operate.
“We will miss you, Coquitlam, but this is not goodbye — it’s a heartfelt ‘SALAMAT’ for 15 incredible years,” concluded the restaurant.
