'This really hurts my heart': People are upset over impending closure of B.C. brewery

Mission-based brewery HUBco has announced that it would be closing its doors, and many are sharing how upset they are at the announcement.
The brewery shared the news on Friday, June 19, with an Instagram post reading “After four wild years of building, dreaming, hustling, adapting, and giving this everything we had, we’ve come to the heartbreaking realization that we can no longer sustain operations.”
HUBco also shared that the space had become more than just a brewery, but a community space.
“It becomes a gathering place. A second living room. a place where strangers became friends and friends became family,” wrote the brewery. “We’ve watched regulars bring in newborns and then watched those same kids grow year after year. We’ve seen first dates turn into relationships, relationships turn into marriages, and milestones celebrated over pints shared across tables. We’ve hosted fundraisers for people facing unimaginable challenges and witnessed this community show up, again and again, with generosity and compassion.”
