Filipino bakery chain to close only Vancouver location after nearly 20 years

It’s been a rough year for the Vancouver restaurant scene, and December is looking no different, especially since Goldilocks shared that it would be closing its only Vancouver outpost after nearly 20 years.
“After 18 years in our current Main Street location, we’ve decided to close our Mount Pleasant Goldilocks Bake Shop this spring,” wrote the bakery on its Instagram.

Goldilocks is a popular spot for traditional Filipino cakes, pastries, and bread, and also operates a location in Burnaby, which will remain open.
Hailing from the Philippines, Goldilocks has nearly 1,000 locations across the world, the first of which opened in 1979. Currently, it only operates two locations in Metro Vancouver, and after its Vancouver spot closes, it will be down to one.
