From Broadway to Burnaby - Goldilocks Bakehouse to relocate after 30 years

After 30 years of operation, Filipino bakehouse and café Goldilocks is relocating its Broadway branch, which housed not only a popular storefront but also a manufacturing facility, to Burnaby.

August 28 marked Goldilocks’ last day of operation at 1606 West Broadway, on the corner of Fir Street. After reading the news online, loyal customers took to social media to bid farewell and good luck to the longstanding Broadway shop.

Impossible to miss, thanks in large part to the bakery’s brightly coloured facade, Goldilocks was a popular South Granville spot for traditional Filipino cakes, pastries, and bread.

Hailing from the Philippines, Goldilocks has numerous locations across the U.S., the first of which opened in 1979.

Goldilocks’ relocation to units 101 and 102 at 3728 North Fraser Way in Burnaby won’t effect the bakehouse’s two other branches. The storefront at 2833 Main Street (near 12th Avenue), as well as the store at Guildford Town Center, in Surrey, will both remain open. Goldilocks’ Burnaby branch is scheduled to open late September.
