Ricky Gervais just gave Vancouver's Parallel 49 Brewing a huge shout out

Famous English stand-up comedian, writer, film producer, and director Ricky Gervais just gave one local craft brewer in Vancouver a major shout out.

The 2020 Golden Globes host just responded to fan on Twitter who asked him his favourite brand of beer or lager and he mentioned a particular beverage from Parallel 49 Brewing.

I like so many and I can’t remember all the names. I like Brooklyn lager and loads from different micro breweries around the world. I remember thinking ‘Gypsies Tears’ in Vancouver was the best beer I’d ever tasted though.

Gervais gave Gypsy Tears (now Ruby Tears), a Northwest Red Ale, props in his response, even going so far as saying he thought it was the best beer he’d ever tasted when he drank it.

Well, it seems Gervais will have the opportunity to sip on this brew again soon, the comedian has two upcoming performances at Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre in August.
