Glenburn Soda Fountain to open new roadside to-go location in Burnaby
Glenburn Soda Fountain has been a destination for those with a sweet tooth since it first opened in 2013, and now, the brand has announced it’s expanding.
The popular old-school treat purveyor, known for its epic ice cream float creations, is currently asking for donations via Kickstarter to help fund a roadside location.
Glenburn’s got plans for a smaller, on-the-go version of theirĀ 4090 Hastings Street parlour in Burnaby.
The new “Glenburn Roadside” location will be opening atĀ 4347 Hastings Street, just a few blocks away from the original outpost.

Owners describe the new location as “the essence of Glenburn” and say it will have a smaller menu of popular and timeless treats like scoops, sundaes, milkshakes, and lunch items like waffle grilled cheese and chili along with a few new things.
“Glenburn Roadside takes inspiration from roadside food stops where the food is simple and fun. From the place by the lake where the ice cream tastes the best or the stand at the rest stop where you can grab a quick bite to sustain you the rest of the trip. The walk-up window is the main feature of the shop, giving the feeling of being outside along with some special interior touches that reveal our love for our neighbourhood of Burnaby Heights,” reads the description.

There will be no seating at this location, but Glenburn hopes that will promote folks to take a stroll around the neighbourhood and explore.
Glenburn also stated that it will be continuing its partnership with local favourite Royal City Donuts at the Roadside outpost, they plan to offer doughnuts on a daily basis and even introduce some Glenburn-exclusive collabs.
