Metro Vancouver fish market to close after 17 years, moving to online

In a move that is, unfortunately, becoming more common in Metro Vancouver, especially with rising operating costs and rent, Fresh Ideas Start Here (F.I.S.H.) has announced that it will be closing the doors to its brick-and-mortar location and moving to an online-only model.
“We’re excited for what’s to come for Fresh Ideas Start Here,” said Jenice Yu, co-owner of F.I.S.H. “I remember when we first opened in Market Crossing, we were just one of few stores. And now, the community has flourished and grown. We’ve had 17 incredible years at our Burnaby shop and are so grateful for our loyal customers.”

Yu explained that by moving F.I.S.H online, the company can invest in upgrading its plant and create more ways to provide better service by “delivering the same premium seafood experience straight to people’s homes.”
“F.I.S.H. has been delivering fresh seafood to celebrated chefs and restaurants across Metro Vancouver for years,” said Yu. “We hope to bring this same level of quality and service to home cooks soon, making it even easier and more accessible for everyone to enjoy the best seafood at home. Our goal is to continue supporting our community with the seafood they love.”
Additionally, customers will soon be able to pick up their F.I.S.H. orders at its Richmond plant as well as at partnered retailer shops. With spot prawn season coming soon, the seafood shop also teased that it will be hosting Park ‘n Prawn pop-ups at the end of May.
