Here’s another sign the FIFA World Cup is coming to an end.

Vancouver’s official FIFA World Cup stores will soon shutter, as the tournament comes to an end this weekend. The FIFA World Cup 2026 Store has three locations in Vancouver, at 810 Granville St., Pacific Centre mall, and the FIFA Fan Festival.

The final day of the FIFA Fan Festival is Sunday, as Spain and Argentina play in the championship final. The downtown locations of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Store will be around a little longer, with one store employee telling Daily Hive that it’s expected to remain open daily until July 31.

Needless to say, they’ll need to clear inventory before then.

Merchandise is already being sold with deep discounts. We found scarves and hockey-style jerseys for 50 per cent off at the Granville St. location. T-shirts and bucket hats were 30 per cent off, while baseball caps were buy one, get one 50 per cent off.

Vancouver hosted its final match of the FIFA World Cup on July 7, when Switzerland beat Colombia in a match that needed a dramatic penalty shootout. FIFA branding began being removed at BC Place the very next day. The temporary grass pitch is going, with a new artificial turf field taking its place.

The first post-FIFA event taking place at BC Place is a July 25 BC Lions game against the Toronto Argonauts. The Vancouver Whitecaps play their first home game in months on Aug. 1, against LAFC.

August is set to be a busy month at BC Place, with three Whitecaps matches, two Lions games, and three concerts (AC/DC, Noah Kahan, and Guns N’ Roses).

Science World will keep its look as a FIFA World Cup soccer ball until September. Granville Street, which was pedestrianized for the World Cup, will remain car-free until the end of the summer.
