Two official FIFA World Cup merchandise stores to open in Downtown Vancouver this weekend

Downtown Vancouver will see the opening of two official 2026 FIFA World Cup merchandise stores this weekend, just days before the tournament kicks off across Canada, the United States, and Mexico.

The brick-and-mortar retail locations include 810 Granville St. — located near the southeast corner of the prominent intersection of Robson and Granville streets within the entertainment district.

This 5,000 sq. ft. Granville/Robson retail unit has been vacant since Spring 2024, ever since Daiso closed and relocated its corporate-owned Vancouver store.

The second public store in Vancouver’s city centre will be located roughly one city block to the northwest within CF Pacific Centre. More specifically, it will be located inside the shopping mall’s upper-level mall corridor — immediately adjacent to the Apple flagship store, and next to the mall’s West Georgia Street entrance.

Upon inquiry, a FIFA Host City spokesperson for the City of Vancouver told Daily Hive Urbanized that both downtown pop-up store locations will open to the public ahead of this weekend.

The stores will be “offering fans the opportunity to purchase official FIFA merchandise as we count down to the arrival of the world’s biggest sporting event,” said the spokesperson.

Two additional pop-up stores will open later this month in Northeast False Creek — along the “Last Mile” Match Day Spectator Route (the only entrance into BC Place Stadium along Quebec Street/Pacific Boulevard from SkyTrain’s Main Street-Science World Station to the Carrall Street security screening point) and inside BC Place Stadium for spectators.

Additionally, another store will open inside the FIFA Fan Festival at the PNE fairgrounds in Hastings Park. The fan festival — free to enter — will be open for 28 days over the overall 39-day tournament duration, with programming such as live screening of matches (both on fairground screens and within the premium ticketed amphitheatre experience), food and beverages, activations, and concerts and other live entertainment.

Last month, the first store opened at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) within a dedicated rotating pop-up store space after security in the domestic departures area. It offers some FIFA merchandise that is exclusive to travellers at the airport.

Official merchandise is also being sold at various other retailers at the YVR terminal building and at Gastown souvenir shops, as well as at some Sport Chek and adidas store locations.

In the years leading up to the 2010 Winter Olympics, the southeast corner of the ground level of the now-former Hudson’s Bay department store building was used as an official merchandise store for the Games. Weeks before the Olympics began, it was expanded into VANOC’s official “Olympic Megastore,” spanning 21,000 sq. ft. to sell a wide range of Vancouver 2010 merchandise.
