Update: The dog has been FOUND.

A reward is being offered for the safe return of a beloved small dog that was stolen from a disabled panhandler in East Vancouver.

Mishah, a short-haired female Chihuahua mix, is frequently by the side of her owner, Mike,  near Donald’s Market and Church’s Chicken near Hastings and Nanaimo streets.

Mike, who uses a wheelchair, went to use the washroom inside the restaurant on Thursday, and when he returned his dog was gone.

“The pup was his lifeline and he is beyond broken right now. He’s asked me for help as he has no access to social media,” said Kyrin Lit in a Facebook post.

The dog is shy and was most comfortable in her carrier bag.

“The old man is absolutely devastated.”

Lost Pets BC is now offering a reward for the safe return of the beloved companion animal.

Anyone who sees the dog is asked to contact [email protected] or call (604) 440-9737 or (604) 253-1141.
