On Friday, November 30, over 850 students took part in the annual UBC Polar Bear Swim.
The event, having just completed its sixth consecutive year, is hosted by The Calendar, an organization dedicated to building student culture at UBC.
As with most polar bear swims, the students took to the frigid waters of Wreck Beach, this time to celebrate the end of classes for the fall semester.
The students also took part in an on-shore clean-up prior to the swim.
According to event organizers, it was a way to give back to a beach that has given students so much, whether that be bonfires, weird conversations with nudists, or the annual swims.
