DL Chicken Shack and Pepino’s to launch game-changing pizza

Are you sitting down? If not, take a seat, because you’re going to fall over with excitement.

Two of Vancouver’s dopest foodie spots have teamed up to create the ultimate mashup item: DL Chicken Shack and Pepino’s Hot Chicken Pizza.

Yep, DL is at it again with the amazing collaborations, and this one is coming at the perfect time when many of us need something out of this world delicious to get us through the next few weeks.

This game-changing offering from the Nashville Hot Chicken joint and much-loved spaghetti house will be available from November 13 to 27.

For $35 you’ll get Pepino’s house-made dough topped with tomato sauce, brick mozzarella, Pecorino Romano, and Grana Padano cheeses, with the crispy, caramelized edges giving you serious Detroit-style deep dish vibes.

On top of that, there will be DL’s signature spice-dusted, juicy chicken thigh nuggets, bread ‘n butter pickles, and sauce.

In addition to the limited-edition Hot Chicken Pizza, which is available dine-in, or pre-order for pick-up via Tock from Pepino’s, an exclusive T-shirt is dropping alongside this item as well. 

Local creative Rhek has designed a Pepino’s x DL Chicken T-shirt for $28, and a portion of proceeds from sales will go towards Backpack Buddies.

The Tee will be sold at both Pepino’s and DL Chicken Shack while supplies last. 

“This all came together because of our mutual love for pizza and fried chicken,” says Doug Stephen, co-owner of DL Chicken Shack.

“Paul, Phil, and I got to talking, and we asked Rhek to do the design. Did some taste tests, and can’t wait for people to try it.”

“There is nothing like working on creative projects like this with other chefs,” adds Phil Scarfone, culinary director at Savio Volpe, Caffè La Tana and Pepino’s. “The hospitality industry is small with a very supportive community. And, pizza brings people together like nothing else, especially at a time like this!”
