Canadians are calling for the return of this legendary McDonald's dish

Sometimes life just isn’t fair, and for Canadians, recent news of the McRib returning to McDonald’s restaurants across the US is one of those times.

Fans who remember this legendary sandwich understand the hype. It’s made with seasoned boneless pork slathered in smoky, tangy barbecue sauce, topped with slivered onions and tart pickles.

First introduced to restaurants in 1982, folks haven’t tasted the “McRib Magic” since the offering was removed from menus in 2012.

Our neighbours to the south are getting this coveted sandwich back on December 2, 2020, and Canada? We are not, and that didn’t make us happy.

“We are not bringing back the McRib in Canada at this time. Though, we are always inspired by other McDonald’s markets around the world and are always looking for new flavours and menu items for our Canadian guests to enjoy,” the McDonald’s Canada team told Dished in an email.

Since it was confirmed Canada would not be graced with this item’s presence anytime soon, an outpour of support for the movement to bring this sandwich back has erupted online.

Even McDonald’s US market acknowledges how anticipated this dish is on its social platforms.

If you are a Canadian concerned about this matter, there’s now a petition that aims to bring the McRib back to us.

Let’s pray for a tangy, BBQ-sauced miracle with this one, Canada.
