Over 30-year-old local coffee brand is expanding in Metro Vancouver

Delany’s Coffee got its start in the winter of 1993, operating out of a roadside kiosk that was no larger than 200 sq. ft. Since then, the coffee shop has gone on to open multiple locations throughout Metro Vancouver, and it will soon be adding another one to its list.

Delany’s is preparing to open a location in North Vancouver’s Moodyville neighbourhood.

Originally slated for a 2024 opening, Delany’s Moodyville is still under construction. However, on July 14, 2025, the coffee shop did give customers an update on the timeline for this new location.

“We (and the entire development) are still awaiting final city permits which is why we have experienced some significant delays which have pushed back our construction and opening dates,” shared Delany’s on social media. “We had anticipated to open late this summer however as a result of delays completely out of our control we are looking at late fall.”

Delany’s opened its first brick-and-mortar shop in 1999 on Denman Street. Since then, it’s opened locations in Dundarave Village, Edgemont Village, and Lynn Valley Village.

The cafe is best known for its assortment of classic coffee offerings, baked goods, and handhelds like sandwiches and wraps.

“When the doors open it will be special and we can’t wait to join the Moodyville / Lower Lonsdale community!” added Delany’s.

An exact opening date for Delany’s Moodyville outpost has yet to be announced.
