A pedestrian had a very close call when they were nearly hit by a TransLink bus on Tuesday night.
Dashcam footage posted on YouTube by user CB’s Dashcam shows the bus taking a left at the intersection at Kingsway and McKay Street in Burnaby.
As the bus is turning, it narrowly misses hitting a pedestrian crossing the street at a marked crosswalk.
“Shot on January 15, 9:05 PMish at Kingsway at McKay, a Coast Mountain Bus almost runs over a passenger legally crossing the street. I couldn’t believe my eyes” reads the YouTube description.

Jill Drews, senior issues management advisor with TransLink, told Daily Hive that it has “seen the video in question” and is “reviewing the incident to determine the circumstances.”
“Our operators are trained to thoroughly scan intersections and crosswalks for pedestrians before initiating left turns.”
Drews said that no injuries were reported.
