Police chased a stolen taxi through Vancouver Tuesday morning in an ordeal that left three people injured.
A pedestrian who was hit during the chase, and two people were taken to hospital from the final apprehension near Main Street and Marine Drive. The Vancouver Police Department tells Daily Hive one of the injured people was a police officer.
The stolen Yellow Cab began the morning with a hit-and-run at Broadway and Kingsway, Const. Tania Visintin told Daily Hive. The driver proceeded south to Fraser Street and 37th Avenue where a pedestrian was struck.
Two ambulances and an advanced life support unit responded to care for the scene at Fraser, and took the pedestrian to hospital in stable condition.
Police caught up with the stolen vehicle at Main Street and Marine Drive, where one officer was injured as law enforcement vehicles surrounded the taxi.
The taxi was seen stopped in the parking lot in front of HiFive Chicken, where the cab had damage to both its driver’s side doors and airbags deployed.

Police lights continued to blink and block the taxi in the corner of Marine Drive and Main just before 9 am. BC Emergency Health Services said three ambulances and a paramedic specialist response unit responded, transporting tow patients to hospital in stable condition.
Daily Hive has reached out to Yellow Cab for more details on what happened, but has not heard back.
