
New West police hope that the public can help them with information in tracking down a stolen car with a “beloved pet” dog in the backseat.
The incident occurred on Monday morning when the New Westminster Police Department (NWPD) received a report of a stolen car.
According to the victim, a 2012 black Fiat 500 Sport was stolen with a six-year-old Border Collie dog in the backseat of the car. The car was stolen at the 800 block of Carnarvon Street.

Zoey, the name of the Border Collie, is brown and white with freckles, a red nose, and a collar. Police are currently scouring the area for CCTV footage.
Her owner is “extremely upset and understandably he’s concerned for the well-being of his beloved pet.”
Police have also publicly shared the licence plate of the vehicle.

“We’re asking the public to share this story and to help us reunite this man and his dog.”
NWPD adds that if you see what you believe to be the stolen Fiat or the dog, call 911.
“Police would like to speak to anyone who has information about this theft. Investigators can be reached by calling the New Westminster Police Department at 604-525-5411.”
Update:
In a positive turn for the case, Zoey the dog has been found, while the Fiat has still not been recovered.
