BC health officials report 21 new coronavirus cases, one additional death

British Columbia health officials announced 21 new test-positive coronavirus cases and one additional death on Saturday.

During a press conference, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said the total number of recorded cases in the province now sits at 2,428, and the total number of deaths now sits at 141.

Broken down by health region, Henry said there are 878 cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 1,184 in Fraser Health, 126 on Vancouver Island, 181 in Interior Health, and 59 in Northern Health.

The number of long-term care homes in the province with a patient or member of staff who has tested positive is at 21.

Out of the total number of cases, 49 people are in hospital, with 11 of those in intensive care.

A total of 1,932 people cases are now considered fully recovered, as well.
