Metro Vancouver forecast calls for 7 straight days of sunshine

Environment Canada is forecasting a full week of sunshine in Metro Vancouver.

According to the weather agency, seven straight days of springtime weather is expected with highs of up to 20°C forecasted for inland parts of the region on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

But keep in mind the gorgeous springtime weather doesn’t mean you should be flocking to the closest beach or park, as physical distancing measures are crucial in order for BC to flatten the COVID-19 curve.

According to BC’s provincial health officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, going outside to get fresh air is still permissible at this time. But keeping a physical distance of two metres and thorough hand-washing upon returning home are musts. Those who are sick or experiencing symptoms should stay home.

“I think it’s important for us to get out. To be with our households and experience the fresh air,” she said in a statement over the weekend.

It is also important that individuals be aware of where they choose to take a walk, bike ride, or run and avoid popular outdoor spaces. Enjoying the sunshine from your balcony or yard is always a safe option.
