A three-vehicle crash in Coquitlam on Monday afternoon claimed the life of one person and sent two others to hospital with serious injuries.

According to Coquitlam RCMP, the crash, which involved three pedestrians as well, happened at the intersection of Mariner Way and Riverview Crescent, around 2:49 pm.
Police said that as a result of the incident, the following routes are closed until further notice and the public is asked to avoid the area or plan alternate routes:
- Mariner Way northbound and southbound between Atlin Place and Fern Terrace
- Hickey Drive eastbound and westbound between Dartmoor to Mariner Way
- Riverview Crescent eastbound and westbound between Canim Ave to Mariner Way.
As the investigation is still in its early stages, police said they will not be releasing any further information at this time.
