A popular Metro Vancouver independent grocery store has announced its closure after serving its community for over three decades.
In an announcement on social media last week, Peter Young, the owner of Columbus Farm Market, shared that the North Vancouver grocer in Edgemont Village will be permanently closing this summer.
“During this time, the world has drastically changed and so has the way people shop for their food,” wrote Young. “So it is with a heavy heart I announce the permanent closure of Columbus Farm Market…”

“We will continue to offer the best locally produced groceries, frozen foods, dairy products and fresh produce right until the end.”
Young also thanked all customers who supported the small business through the years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
